let the farce begin

im not one to share my opinions about something quite as controversial as the "war on terror", but today whilst watching the olympic opening ceremony i realised what a hypocrisy the world had become.

initially, i just thought that the australians had a ridiculous uniform (no wonder the rest of the world thinks were country hicks). then the americans came out. with the typical US of A attitude, they pushed their chins high in the air. bradishing the stars and stripes at every opportunity (uniforms, berets and of course in their hands). i couldnt help but feel intimidated by the american bravado, perhaps this whole charade is another chance for the americans to flex their muscle.

this compared to say... the swiss. led out by the articulate and charasmatic roger federer, flagged by the international sign of amnesty they seemed so much more peaceful.

which beckons the thought, have we forgotten that the olympics are a games of peace? ancient olympics stopped all wars in greece, how come we cant do that anymore? why are we still killing innocent citizens in iraq and afghanistan?

like i said. its hypocrisy

and on the 7th day the lord rested

in preparation for the Grand Med Ball 2004, i went shopping on bridge road today. in my mind i was to purchase items which would complement my current outfit (that which being tie, cufflinks, vest and other accessories).

instead of purchasing any neccesary items i bought whatever was there on sale... again not being productive. but at least they were quite cool? oh who am i kidding im just trying to justify spending money.

looks like im going to be be broke before the ball comes around. with no cufflinks. well, at least ill be well dressed before then.

another day wasted

well... yesterday has got to rank among the LEAST productive days ever. no work done, didnt go out and basically acted sloth-ish. surprisingly, the guilt trip hasnt struck me as yet... perhaps its because im that far behind ive given up subconsciously?

waking up at 2pm i figured wouldnt get much done so i went for a walk around the block. things always appear so different when you take a different route from the regular walk. trees looked so much.... bigger (?) ok i cant really explain it, but it seemed like id entered into a different world.

which beckoned me to think, and pondered the great mysteries of like i was ten again. what would it be like to live in a mirror world... ok not literally, but like... nonsense things were opposite to what they were here. like:

  1. dogs walking their humans
  2. rain rising from the ground
  3. burgers eating people
  4. cars driving on the left side of the road (oh wait thats america)
  5. michael jackson was a white guy who turned black

and so on...

...well... at least i entertain myself...

holiday finished (im back)

well... im back

yes after a long hiatus from the joys (?) of blogging ive decided to reinitiate this bored tradition. actually its mostly because i am really tired of life at the moment. theres very little happening, i have lost motivation for almost everything in life (yes including my studies) and my personal life.... well, thats taken an extended break.

actually, thats a lie. my personal life hasn't been kind to me lately. just earlier tonight i had my one-year reunion. all was well until i decided to open a window and talk to somebody inside. somehow doing that was conspicuously linked to me jumping-out-a-window! id like to say i was unfairly discriminated against by the bouncers... but really, it stopped me from getting absolutely sloshed... which, cant be all bad, right???

alas, better get myself out of this rut. gotta get a few things done before the end of semester....
of course passing the exams would be nice. but thats not what i mean.
